If I need to reschedule, I will contact you ASAP via email or phone. These instances are very rare, but if this is the case I will do my best to accommodate you with the soonest available timeslot possible + transfer your deposit to the new date.

BEFORE + AFTER —
-
• After you’ve booked your appointment, you can expect to see a rough draft of the design via email within a few days leading up to your appointment.
• In the meantime, while you’re waiting for the draft, any additional references or details that may come to mind can be sent to me via email. (If applicable, please send extra details by at least one week prior to the appointment date)
• Once you receive the draft, you can request any adjustments to the design. Major changes that require a total redraw may result in us needing to reschedule + another deposit. It’s important to include any specifics you have in mind and/or send any additional info or changes to your idea before I begin designing. *You can request a consultation for a couple weeks prior to your appointment if you prefer*
• The day of your appointment, please arrive on time! You will fill out paperwork when you come in & we will take a copy of your ID. Afterwards, we will figure out the sizing of the piece together & I will create a stencil. I’ll prep the area to be tattooed by cleaning, shaving, + applying a stencil transfer liquid to then place the stencil. We can reapply the stencil as many times until you’re happy with the placement, then we begin to make it permanent! (The preparation can typically take ~30min)
• When we start the tattoo, I will begin with a small line to ease you in. It may feel like a sharp, warm scratch but after about 15min your body’s endorphins should kick in to help you out. You are welcome to take as many breaks as needed. During the tattoo, it will be necessary for me to apply small amounts of ointment to the skin frequently as well as pressure to the area to stretch the skin for proper application. Depending on the placement, this can be a vulnerable experience for some — please don’t hesitate to let me know if you feel triggered or uncomfortable in any way so I can do my best to make the tattoo experience as comfortable as possible for you.
• Once the tattoo is complete, you can check it out in the mirror & let me know if you’re happy with it. We’ll take some photos of the tattoo, if you’re comfortable with me doing so, & then give the tattoo a final clean + wrap up it. I offer either a temporary wrap or DermShield. (see “aftercare” for more info)
• After you’re all wrapped up, I’ll give a quick rundown of how to take care of it & the last part is payment. Your deposit will be deducted from the total cost & the payment can be made in cash (preffered), Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, or CashApp. Tips are always appreciated but never required!

Tattoos, whether they hurt for you or not, can take a toll on the body. It’s important to be well prepared!
• Get a good night’s rest & make sure you are well hydrated + have eaten before coming in. It’s always good to bring water to maintain hydration & snacks to keep your blood sugar up (sugary or high-carb snacks are great).
• Moisturize + exfoliate your skin the days leading up to the appointment
• Avoid drinking alcohol the day before + day of your tattoo. Alcohol will thin your blood, & if you’re bleeding excessively during the tattoo it will not heal optimally..
•If you are on medication that thins the blood, please consult your doctor first & inform me as well.
• Tattoos take time — so feel free to bring headphones, a book, or anything that may help the time pass + distract your mind from the tattoo sensation.
• Tattoos take at least 2 weeks to heal, so plan accordingly. (see “aftercare” for the healing process)
• If paying with cash, please plan ahead & go to ATM before your appointment!
Dress appropriately, or bring clothing with you, to allow access to the area to be tattooed. Looser clothing is always best, tight clothing can pull/stretch the skin in strange ways & affect the stencil which can cause warping. It won’t be noticeable until much later after the tattoo is competed & you have changed into less restrictive clothing. If you think your hair will get in the way of the tattoo, bring a hair tie/bobby pins! Here are some general recommendations for some placements from past client experiences:
Upper Arm/Shoulder area & Chest/Collarbone: tank top, tube top, any open shirt/sweater worn with arm left out
Back: opened zip up sweater or button down shirt worn backwards
Sternum/Chest: a loose crop top or opened button down shirt/sweater. pasties are available if needed.
Ribs: loose shirt or crop top, bikini top. best to not wear a bra since that can pull at the skin.
Hip to Upper Thigh area: bikini bottom that opens on sides, looser dress/skirt, loose shorts.
(examples are just to give an idea, use your own judgement as to what you’re comfortable with or email me if unsure)

I offer either a temporary bandage (few hours) or DermShield (few days) to wrap up the tattoo.
The healing process can take up to 2-3 weeks, & during then you want to AVOID the following in the area of the tattoo:
Prolonged submersion in water (no pools, ocean, hottubs, baths)
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight (CANNOT put sunscreen on fresh tattoo)
Itching, scratching, or picking at the tattoo
Excessive sweating for the first week
Over-moisturizing the tattoo
Wearing clothing that may be rough or rubbing against the tattoo
*Plan accordingly when booking a tattoo appointment. You’ll know the tattoo is healed once there’s no more scabs, flakes, dryness, or shininess & feels like your normal skin again*
WHAT TO DO:
If using a temporary bandage:
Leave the wrap on for at least 2-3hrs or up to overnight
Clean hands, remove bandage, & wash gently with warm water
You may notice the tattoo has oozed, which is excess blood/ink/plasma & is normal
Appy a thin layer of a non-scented moisturizer —
Any plain lotion like Lubriderm, Cetaphil, CeraVe, etc. (for entire healing) OR
Natural products like shea butter or coconut oil OR
A&D or Aquaphor (only for first 1-2 days, for pieces with heavy shading, color, or blackfill)
Gently wash the tattoo at least twice a day for the next couple of weeks with warm water + unscented soap
Make sure to clean tattoo as needed (ex: if you’ve been sweating or in an unclean environment)
Liquid soap is better than bar soap as bars can harbor bacteria
Gently apply ointment/lotion as needed, you want to keep the tattoo lightly moisturized
Always use clean hands when touching the healing tattoo
Allow any scabs or flakes to fall off on their own (picking them off prematurely can lead to ink fall-out)
If using DermShield:
Leave wrap on for 3-5 days (or at least 24hrs)
Showering is fine with the DermShield on, but avoid soaking it prolonged periods
Expect some fluid build up underneath
Excess blood/ink/plasma, completely normal for your body to excrete
Remove the DermShield & gently wash the tattoo with warm water + unscented soap
Easier to remove in the shower or with the help of water. Pull off the same way you would a Command Strip.
Continue same aftercare instructions as with a temporary bandage (from bullet #3)
Some important notes:
Never use ointments such as vaseline or bacitracin during the healing
If the DermShield starts to irritate your skin, leak, or peels up exposing the tattoo, remove it immediately & wash off the tattoo gently with warm water + nonscented soap.
If ANY questions/concerns come up during healing, you can always email me at danielle@jettaturas.com
If signs of infection occur, consult a doctor immediately

Do you tattoo minors?
No sorry! You must be 18+ & have a valid ID by the day of the appointment.
Can I have a consultation first?
Absolutely, consultations can be done in person or virtual. They’re pretty quick & can be very helpful (large projects, coverups, etc).
Do you do cover ups?
I do! However it’s very much on a case by case basis, depending on what the existing tattoo is + what the client would like done over it. I believe there is always a solution to covering or fixing a tattoo, but it requires trust + flexibility. Typically I’m good with creating cover ups to not be excessively larger than the existing tattoo, but it may be necessary. A consultation is required for cover ups.
Do you tattoo over scars?
Yes, but it depends on the age + condition of the scars as well as the client’s goal with the tattoo. They need to be fully healed, at least one year healed to be safe. Scar tissue is easily irritated + raised when getting tattooed, we don’t want to create more. Raised, keloid scars are more difficult to go over.
